Timothy Lynch oversees and teaches the various classes offered at the BalletMet Dance Academy. He is currently teaching students at the Creative Movement, Trainee and Adult Open levels.
Mr. Lynch received his dance training from the School of American Ballet and danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet for 10 years. In 2003, he joined the faculty of Pacific Northwest Ballet School and helped develop the men’s program through his choreography and teaching for 10 years. In 2013, he received his Master’s of Fine Arts in dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was granted an Advanced Opportunity Fellowship. He received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in dance from Cornish College of the Arts in 2005, graduating summa cum laude. Mr. Lynch has been guest faculty at Cornish College of the Arts, University of Washington and Western Washington University.
Mr. Lynch founded Seattle Dance Project in 2007, where he served as both Artistic Director and dancer for seven seasons. Seattle Dance Project commissioned choreographers such as Edwaard Liang, Molissa Fenley, James Canfield, Penny Hutchinson, Olivier Wevers, Pat Catterson, Mark Haim, Kiyon Gaines, Wade Madsen and many others. He earned the KOMO Kids First Award for mentoring local youth in 2011 and was honored as Dance Educator of the Year in 2012 by the Dance Educators Association of Washington.
