Lydia began her ballet training at the early age of 2-1/2 and at 6 asked to join the Grand Rapids Ballet School.  She moved up through all levels, became a Jr. Trainee and joined the Junior Company.  At the age of 16, Lydia moved to New York City to train under François Perron at the French Academie of Ballet on a merit scholarship, while finishing high school online.  In 2015, she became a trainee at the Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago.

Lydia has had the opportunity to experience summer intensives with the Grand Rapids Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre of New York, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Ballet West, French Academie of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, and most recently, Carolina Ballet.  She is very excited to be back home dancing with the Grand Rapids Ballet.
