About

Our adult ballet classes focus on ballet technique, core strengthening, and muscle conditioning. Studies have proven that a ballet dancer is just as strong as a football player. Why? Because in ballet, all of your muscles are actively engaged in movement, providing you with greater flexibility while also exercising the brain. Beyond that, you build self-confidence, grow artistically, and relieve stress, too.

Dress code

Athletic wear is recommended in order to be able to freely execute all the movement. Ballet slippers or socks are preferred, but flexible athletic footwear is also accepted. Ballet slippers can be purchased at Kicks Dancewear located at 2905 Breton Rd SE.

About

Beginners welcome! Pilates is an innovative and safe system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat or a variety of equipment. It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk, is capable of creating a sleek toned body and can even help alleviate back pain. It is a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion.

Dress Code

All you need to get started is a yoga mat and comfortable clothing.

The Benefits of Pilates

Pilates can really make a difference in your health without taking a toll on your body.

  • • A refreshing mind-body workout
  • • Develop a strong core – flat abdominals and a strong back
  • • Gain long, lean muscles and flexibility
  • • Create an evenly conditioned body, improve sports performance, and prevent injuries
  • • Learn how to move efficiently
  • • It’s gentle…many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and most are low impact and partially weight bearing. Pilates is so safe, it is used in physical therapy facilities to rehabilitate injuries.
  • • But it’s also challenging…Pilates is also an extremely flexible exercise system. Modifications to the exercises allow for a range of difficulty ranging from beginning to advanced. Be prepared for abdominal curls, bridges, planks and more!
