We are thrilled to announce that we are bringing back the annual tradition, Clara’s Nutcracker Party on Sunday, December 12, 2021! This festive event is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season, adding to the family-favorite performance, The Nutcracker making this an experience your children will never forget.
Clara’s Nutcracker Party includes an arts and crafts activity, a reading of the Nutcracker tale by Fox 17’s Todd Chance, a performance by Grand Rapids Ballet School, all topped off with a brunch that will please both children and adults alike. You can capture the joy of the event at our commemorative photo booth.

Grand Rapids Ballet is once again thrilled to host a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration, made just for kids! Clara’s Nutcracker Party is a joyous event where your child can meet their favorite characters from Grand Rapids Ballet’s The Nutcracker in a fun and festive fantasy land at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. This incredible holiday experience includes:
- • A fun arts and crafts activity
- • Tea and brunch that is made to please both children and adults, including festive desserts and mimosas for 21+!
- • A reading of The Nutcracker by Fox 17’s Todd Chance
- A live performance by the Grand Rapids Ballet School
- • An interactive photo booth that allows direct posts to Facebook plus a take-home printed copy
- • Tasty Land of the Sweets treats that your child can take home as our gift
- • A matinee performance of The Nutcracker right next door at DeVos Performance Hall

Location: Ambassador Ballroom at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel
Schedule:
- • 11 a.m. – Arrive at the ballroom as registration begins
- • 11-11:30 a.m. – Photos and crafts
- • 11:45 a.m. – A live program featuring GRBS Jr. Company and Fox 17’s Todd Chance
- • 12:30 p.m – Brunch
- • 1:30 p.m. – Depart for DeVos Performance Hall
- • 2 p.m. – Attend the matinee performance of The Nutcracker
HOW TO GET TICKETS
Tickets to Clara’s Nutcracker Party begin at $55 plus the cost of the ticket to The Nutcracker, ranging in price depending on the seats selected within DeVos Performance Hall. You also can reserve an entire table (up to 6 people) for $330.

CLARA’S NUTCRACKER PARTY | SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
For the peace of mind of all attendees, please know, extra safety procedures will be in place during Clara’s Nutcracker Party including:
- • Requiring all attendees to wear a mask at all times except when eating.
- • Limiting the number of guests allowed per table.
- • Allowing families to purchase private tables as an option. (limited quantity – while available)
- • Requesting that all guests remain seated at their tables during the performance.
- • Modifying the arts and crafts portion of the event to per-child, personal crafts.
- • And any additional measures that are deemed relevant at the time of the event.
