GRAND RAPIDS BALLET SCHOOL JUNIOR COMPANY

The Junior Company provides students of Grand Rapids Ballet School between the ages of 10 and 19 (by the date of the audition) with greater performance opportunities. Members will enjoy performing in their own productions and alongside the professional dancers of Grand Rapids Ballet. To participate in Junior Company, students are required to be enrolled full-time at Grand Rapids Ballet School and maintain a 90% attendance record.

Grand Rapids Ballet School Junior Company 2019-20 Season Auditions

Students will need to complete an audition form prior to August 28, 2019. Forms are available to complete at the School Office during open hours or by clicking here.

Junior Company Student/Parent Information Meeting:

Friday, September 13
6:15-6:45pm

Junior Company Artistic Director Attila Mosolygo will be discussing general information, policies, and the 2019-20 performance season calendar. All accepted students are required to attend this meeting. It is encouraged, but not required, that parents attend as well (minutes from the meeting will be available for parents who are unable to attend).

Grand Rapids Ballet School Faculty

Attila was born in Kisvarda, Hungary. He received his early training at the National Ballet Institute in Budapest. After moving to the United States, he joined the Joffrey Ballet School. He has performed as a guest artist with Mobile Ballet, Bravo Dance, Harrisburg Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago. Attila spent sixteen years as a Grand Rapids Ballet company dancer and 8 years as a Ballet Master. As a company dancer, a few of his notable roles include The Prodigal Son in George Balanchine’s Prodigal Son, Max in Septime Webre’s Where The Wild Things Are, Charlie Chaplin in Gordon Peirce Schmidt’s Flickers, Tibalt in Mario Radacovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, and Melancholic in George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments. Attila became the Artistic

Director of the Grand Rapids Ballet School’s Junior Company in 2011.  Since becoming the Artistic Director, Attila has choreographed many ballet including Snow White, Peter Pan, Beauty & the Beast, Carnival of the Animals, and Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes for the Junior Company. He and his wife Mindy have one daughter and one son, Vivian and Cameron.
