Choreography

From internationally acclaimed choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Broken Wings is inspired by the life and art of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Dancers translate Kahlo’s suffering into a powerful demonstration of resilience and artistic expression as we follow her through a life-changing bus accident and complex marriage with fellow artist, Diego Rivera.
Called an “intensely vivid spectacle” by San Francisco Classical Voice, Broken Wings has been seen in cities such as London, Amsterdam, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco. The ballet features a score by Peter Salem that incorporates elements of Mexican folk music.
Perfect for: Art enthusiasts, history buffs, storytellers, and fans of powerful performances.
