Melissa Anderson

Melissa Anderson relocated to Grand Rapids after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography from Hope College. During her time at Hope, she honed her skills in costume design, sewing, construction, and wardrobing through hands-on experience in the costume shop.

Upon graduating, Melissa worked as a seamstress, specializing in wedding gown alterations, before discovering her passion for sales. She quickly expanded her role to include bridal consultant, receptionist and floor manager at a bridal shop, where she excelled in customer service and operations. Melissa’s diverse career spans over a decade, with experience in sales, retail, customer service, and administration, including roles in bridal sales and apartment leasing.

In addition to her professional background, Melissa holds a Degree in Sign Language Interpreting, reflecting her deep interest in language and communication.

Melissa joined Grand Rapids Ballet in March 2022, bringing together her passion for ballet and her extensive background in sales and customer service. In her role, she leverages her expertise to deliver exceptional service and support to the box office, ensuring a seamless experience for all patrons.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys reading, sewing, knitting, and gardening. She is married to Ross Anderson, and together they have a son, Ezekiel, who brings them great joy.
