Butterflies Are Blooming brings 7,000 winged wonders to Frederik Meijer Gardens
Guests can visit the Butterfly Bungalow to witness the emergence of newborn butterflies, stroll through the conservatory to try and spot a Scarlet Mormon, Tree Nymph, or another of the more than 40 species represented, or take their family to one of numerous activities including a butterfly maze, puppet show, books, puzzles and costumes.
The popular Tuesday Night Lights promotion returns when the Gardens stay open until 9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights to see the conservatory in a whole new way.
There also will be four dance performances by members of the Grand Rapids Ballet Junior Company. The Butterfly Ballet will be held at 10 a.m. and noon on Saturdays, March 8 and March 22. Interactive dance activities will be held 30 minutes before each performance and dancers will be available after the shows for photographs.
