Grand Rapids Ballet’s Movemedia II: Wide ranging, wild and wonderful choreography

Movemedia2Grand Rapids Ballet returns to the stage this weekend with Movemedia II, the second installment this season of its contemporary dance series. The first was held in March. In one show, you can see work by two well-known choreographers and three world premieres among four ballets beginning tonight. I got an early look at Thursday’s final dress rehearsal.

Live music as well as prerecorded audio, projections, helium-filled balloons and little red balls that show up in improbable places are part of the evening created by artistic director Patricia Barker.
