POSITION: Program Coordinator and Instructor for Parkinsons’ Program
DEPARTMENT: Grand Rapids Ballet School
REPORTS TO: School Director

Grand Rapids Ballet School is seeking a program coordinator/instructor for our Adaptive Dance Parkinson’s Program. The ideal candidate will have a classical dance education, dance teaching experience, effective communication skills, extensive clerical knowledge, and a profound understanding for mobility exercises. Our faculty has a passion for inspiring students and should demonstrate excellent communication skills. All faculty are expected to provide the highest quality and level of education and training, while nurturing a love and appreciation for the art of dance.
Moving with Parkinson’s is a dance therapy class made specifically for people with Parkinson’s Disease, geared towards mobility. Moving with Parkinson’s dancers enjoy spending time in a supportive community, focusing on holistic and restorative movement.

Start Date: As soon as possible
Part-Time: Up to 10 hours per week, $50 an hour
Schedule may vary-Open availability preferred, Ability to travel required

Responsibilities include:
Seek out and establish new venues for classes
Manage communication with facility directors
Create and manage calendar for all classes and teachers of the Parkinson’s program
Teach Moving with Parkinson’s classes around the West Michigan area Report to School Director

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of dance training in any of the following styles – ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, musical theatre
Willing and able to travel to different locations in the Grand Rapids area
Ability to work with students between the ages of 40-100 Strong ballet vocabulary
