GRAND RAPIDS BALLET SCHOOL SUMMER 2024 INTENSIVES

Grand Rapids Ballet School’s Summer 2024 Intensives include a Ballet Intensive program, a Contemporary Intensive program, and Dance Camps for young dancers. During the Ballet and Contemporary programs, students participate in daily classes with our renowned faculty and enjoy a comprehensive curriculum that includes exposure to GRB Company dancers and guest faculty. Our Dance Camps are a fun way for your child to stay active, meet new friends, and learn the fundamentals of ballet during summer break. We welcome you to explore each program below!

SUMMER 2024 BALLET INTENSIVE

Grand Rapids Ballet School’s Summer 2024 Ballet Intensive, taking place June 24-July 26, offers students a chance to participate in daily classes refining their skills in technique and artistry. Students receive training in ballet, contemporary, pointe, repertoire, and variations. Students also gain valuable tools through specialized classes in Progressing Ballet Technique®, jazz, cardio training, and more with exposure to GRB Company dancers and guest faculty.

Students will have the opportunity to perform in a showcase at the end of the summer.

SUMMER 2024 CONTEMPORARY INTENSIVE

Grand Rapids Ballet School’s Summer 2024 Contemporary Intensives, taking place July 15-26, provides dancers a space to expand growing dance skills beyond traditional ballet with classes in contemporary technique, improvisation, contemporary repertoire, conditioning, and PBT® in addition to ballet technique. This truly unique workshop-style intensive encourages group participation in an intimate learning setting.

Students participate in daily classes with our renowned faculty and enjoy a comprehensive curriculum that includes exposure to GRB Company dancers and guest faculty.

2024 SUMMER DANCE CAMP

Grand Rapids Ballet School is bringing back our popular Summer Dance Camps, made especially for young dancers. Our ballet camps are a fun way for your child to stay active, meet new friends, and learn the fundamentals of ballet during summer break.

For children ages 3-6, our 75-minute ballet camp will teach your little one the fundamentals of etiquette, coordination, and musicality in an interactive environment where they will learn the beginning elements of creative movement. Students also set a goal to achieve by the end of the week and have the discipline to achieve it.

For children ages 6.5-10, our two-hour ballet camp provides the exciting creative spark they need to fuel their passion for dance. The curriculum builds a strong dance foundation focused on correct posture, placement, discipline, coordination, strength, flexibility, and the basic vocabulary of ballet.
