Family Matinee – In The Countenance of Kings

Experience all the joy and wonder of a Grand Rapids Ballet professional performance in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for young children and families. Designed as an introduction to the world of classical ballet and led by Grand Rapids Ballet’s artistic director James Sofranko, see a demonstration of daily ballet class as well as excerpts of the company performing works from recent repertoire, including Justin Peck’s In The Countenance of Kings with music by Sufjan Stevens.

In an effort to accommodate sensory-sensitive audience members, the Family Matinee performances will feature low-sensory adjustments, including lowered volume, elimination of strobe lighting, and a 45 minute runtime.
