We are now accepting video auditions for male and female company, apprentice, and trainee positions for the 2021|22 season, our 50th anniversary. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, in-person auditions will be considered on a case by case basis. The season will include five programs including Val Caniparoli’s The Nutcracker and Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, both performed with live music by Grand Rapids Symphony.
Work with the world’s best choreographers in classical and contemporary ballet including Princess Grace Award winner and Grand Rapids Ballet resident choreographer, Penny Saunders, and Artistic Director James Sofranko while advancing your career in a city ranked 13 in the 125 best places to live in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. Recent repertory also includes work by Yuri Possokhov, Christopher Stowell, George Balanchine, Val Caniparoli, Danielle Rowe, Alejandro Cerrudo, Adam Hougland, and Trey McIntyre.
Company dancer positions include a 30-week contract and 100% employer-funded health insurance. Apprentices take class, rehearse, and perform alongside the professional company, and receive a weekly stipend. For more information about trainees, click here.
